I booked an online appointment for a simple haircut one week in advance. As a mother of a newborn, my time is extremely valuable, which is why I scheduled ahead.
When I arrived, there was no receptionist or staff member to greet me or even ask why I was there. The stylist who was supposed to cut my hair saw me arrive but continued washing another client’s hair without saying a word. After about five minutes, a nail technician finally asked if I had an appointment. When I confirmed, she told me to sit down, and the hairstylist said she would come once she finished with her current client.
I waited for nearly 30 minutes, only to realize that nothing was happening. The stylist had actually started a full bleaching service for the previous client and clearly had no intention of seeing me anytime soon.
I eventually stood up, expressed my frustration, and left. The only response I received was, “Sorry.”
Later, someone from management (who was nowhere to be seen during my visit) sent me a text message apologizing and explaining that balayage services take longer than expected. They offered me a discount if I booked another appointment.
A discount doesn’t give me back the nearly two hours I wasted. What I expected was simple: respect for the appointment I booked and respect for my time.
Between traveling to the salon, waiting there, and leaving without receiving any service, I lost nearly two hours of my day.
This was actually my second bad experience here. During my previous visit, I was also asked to wait because another client had arrived late. Again, I ended up paying the price for someone else’s scheduling problem.
If you know you’re running significantly behind schedule, the least you can do is notify your clients before they arrive. Basic communication and respect for people’s time should not be too much to expect.
Based on my experiences, customer time is clearly not a priority at this salon. If your schedule matters to you, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere
