Our final dinner on our trip did not disappoint! Barroco is a small, romantic little place. A petite menu with a little bit of everything. We enjoyed the homemade brioche with onion butter, roasted chicken and our favorites hand down was Braised Beef!

The prime rib, best I have tasted. Stellar dishes and servers. Would omit the olive oil drizzle with chocolate cake dessert or compliment with a berry drizzle. Overall a beautiful ambient resto with great thoughtful creations.

On a friend's recommendation, I made reservations to try this place for a Sunday evening 6 pm. There was plenty of street parking at no fee because of the reservation time. The host/waiter greeted us warmly and showed us to our table, right by the window. The restaurant is quaint and cozy, as was the ambiance. At the time of arrival, there were less than 10 guests seated. Soft music played in the background so conversation was easy. I started off with the featured cocktail (gin based) and some red wine for my guest, then ordered a dozen oysters, 16 oz rib steak (medium rare) and endive salad for my guest and 2 appetizers for me: scallop and leek with Bercy sauce and beef marrow and the beef tartare with Foyot sauce and country bread. My guest thoroughly enjoyed the red wine, oysters, steak and salad while I enjoyed everything except for the scallops and leeks dish. The flavor was good, but the texture of the cooked leeks along with the scallops just felt too slimy for my liking. If I could do it again, I would have ordered the octopus salad. I paired my meal with a glass of Sancerre. For dessert, we ordered the assorted nuts nougat with strawberry salad and the olive oil cake, whipped cream and raspberries and some mint tea. The nut nougat was fantastic and the olive oil cake was so light and delicious. By the end of our meal, the place was 90% full. Overall, it was a great experience with high quality food and drink paired with wonderful and knowledgeable staff. It is definitely worth another visit. Thank you!

What an amazing experience! The lights off the streets attracted us in and the vibe, décore and wonderful service made us instantly know we were in the perfect spot. We sat at the bar and Marc was our host. he makes the best drinks and was honestly one of the most genuine great people I’ve met in a long time. The food was delicious and every item we saw come from the kitchen made us want to order even more. Thank you Marc and see you again soon!

Absolutely loved Barroco! We were in Montreal for 24hours and chose this restaurant. The place is small and classic with rustic vibes. Ambience was romantic and intimate. The porcelain plates were perfect and traditional. The service was excellent! Our server kindly improved the old fashioned we ordered! Last but not least, the food exceeded my expectations — the filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the braised beef was soft and delicious…impeccable!!
